Our Program Managers bring value to our clients by passionately and professionally serving the best interests of our clients and agency by scoping, planning and managing the effective and efficient delivery of our integrated solutions; campaigns, events, experiences, platforms, content, products and services.


PMs are efficient operators with strong commercial abilities and business and financial acumen. They are the gatekeepers of project profitability (margin control) through effective planning and management of project resources. They ensure every project meets set margin targets and additional investments are approved before project commencement or the critical points of change in project scope.


They are highly organized and accountable and can build relationships and collaborate with/draw on all Ogilvy’s mega businesses, expert groups and partnerships to deliver best-in-class integrated solutions with maximum impact and efficiency.


How PMs will help enable and drive growth for our clients and our business:

  • Partner with Senior Program Managers and Delivery leads to scope, plan and manage the individual with maximum efficiency and impact
  • Day-to-day project contact with lower to mid-level clients and other agency partners to manage the logistical aspects of project delivery
  • Own/champion/enforce agency core process (Think/Create/Realise/Optimise)
  • Effective scoping based on mandatory customer/business outcomes and creative ambitions, assessed against client budgets and timelines
  • Effective scope management and communicating change requests, and managing scope-creep to avoid missed deadlines and cost overages
  • Ensure all agency briefs are complete and clear (context, mandatory information, deliverables, timelines, budgets etc.) before engaging managed resources
  • Enforce internal Quality Assurance (QA) processes and measure to avoid/minimise duplication of effort and protect agency reputation
  • Co-own (with Account Management) the project budgets to manage costs and deliverables as well as staffing resources
  • Develop and maintain clear and complete Statement of Work (SoW) and Functional/Technical documentation (tech projects)
  • Effectively present and justify SoW, including timelines, budgets, resource plans and general delivery ecosystems (integrations and partnerships)
  • Maintain up-to-date resource and project information in Delivery Power Tools (ASANA/SmartSheets/10Kfeet/Microsoft Planner) for effective, data-informed project and resource management and reporting
  • Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans
  • Help facilitate and maintain a collaborative and inclusive work environment where diversity and talent, and flexibility in workflows become key strengths in driving highly creative, effective and efficient outcomes
  • Understand & respect every department’s role in delivering great work and building relationships
  • If in a PR focused role, the Program Manager will also:
    • An in-depth understanding of the Public Relations and Influencer marketing space with its specific requirements for agility and responsiveness in dealing with planned or reactive campaigns
    • An in-depth understanding of the content creations; Creative/Craft, Production, Dynamic Distribution, Optimisation
    • An in-depth understanding of the event and experiential marketing processes 
    • Managing partner/vendor relations as relates to product launches, media, research, events and other program initiatives
    • Exceptional resource planning and team management skills


Required experience, skills and professional attributes of a PM:

  • 2 – 5 years of related experience in program/project/account management, with client facing industry experience managing “the making” and delivery of great work
  • Experienced in delivering programs of work and integrated campaigns in Content Market or PR & Influence or Digital/Social Advertising and any of the following verticals (not necessarily on the same project): Content Marketing, Digital/Social Advertising, PR & Influence
  • Demonstrable experience in working-level and senior client relationship management
  • Demonstrable experience in integrated, digital, social and traditional production, with basic level of understanding of creative content development deliverables, complexity and effort required to develop each deliverable.
  • Demonstrable capability to deliver integrated projects with multiple deliverables and stakeholder within allocated timelines and budgets
  • Working knowledge of Agency operations, including Finance and Commercial processes and compliance frameworks
  • An in-depth understanding and appreciation of the ‘creative’ process – championing great work
  • Demonstrable knowledge of client-side marketing operations
  • Experience forming strong relationships at all levels, internall and with clients/partners
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable risk assessment, mitigation and management experience (project level)
  • Curious, a lifelong learner, good listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well and adapts their style and response accordingly
  • Calm and confident under preasure
  • Well-organised, punctual and accountable with great presentation skill
