Overview

Supporting the Finance Director to manage the agency’s Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, Compliance and Tax disciplines through the design and implementation of robust, scalable financial and data control processes within an evolving and demanding regulatory framework. To establish a collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective compliance with statutory and internal business control requirements.

 

This is a high visibility role within Ogilvy Singapore, supported by a junior executive, offering the ideal candidate opportunities to succeed and develop their career.

Responsibilities

Tasks that will be the primary responsibility of the candidate include:

  • Preparation of Statutory financial accounts, working closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Establish and manage internal and external timelines for Statutory audit and the timely delivery of annual financial statements.
  • Assist with management comments for statutory audit.
  • Work with our tax agents to manage statutory, corporate, withholding and GST tax requirements.
  • Coordinate with corporate secretary on board resolutions and filing matters.
  • Review and test internal control processes to ensure control requirements are fulfilled in accordance with WPP audit guidelines and professional standards.
  • Perform key cycle walkthroughs and document processes in detail.
  • Summarize internal control / WPP internal audit review findings for senior management.
  • Propose practicable recommendations for remediation plans to address control deficiencies and share best practice.
  • Ensure timely implementation of remediation plans, including retesting controls.
  • Prepare complex written documents and presentation materials as required.
  • Manage data protection processes, working with our IT and information security team, in line with data protection legislation and client contract requirements.
  • Manage client contractual compliance requirements.
  • Educate, advise and conduct training on internal control requirements and financial/operational workflows.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiencies.
  • Managing one junior executive resource.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the finance team and cross-functional teams.

 

Requirements

  • Possess strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess good command of spoken and written English
  • Degree in Accountancy and/or ACCA/CPA/CA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting/accounting/audit.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, SOX, internal controls and IFRS.
  • Possess high proficiency in ERP systems.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiar with MS Office applications.
