As a Creative Director, you are the manager, the inspirer, the overseer, and the responsible party for the creative product for a major tobacco brand.



It is your responsibility to ensure the work is as brilliant as possible. In the end, it’s your responsibility to make your client and his/her brand famous, and to reach their business objectives. But to also make work that GOJ can be proud of.


 Your Duties Include: 

-Fully understanding your client’s business problems and opportunities. 

-Questioning the brief. Making sure it is unique and connects with business objectives. And, if it does not, getting it corrected. Then making sure your teams understand it and are inspired by it. 

-Pushing your teams to think up brilliant answers to the brief, but also thinking beyond the brief as well to surprise the client with smart initiatives that can move his/her brand forward.  

-Keeping a steady eye on the process of each project, stepping in when needed to offer motivation, ideas, whatever is needed to help the teams end up producing the best work, on time and on budget. 

 -Communicating often enough with others on the project so no misunderstandings or mix-ups occur. 

-Updating your CCO and ECD often so they can contribute along the way and stay abreast of the progress. 

-Supporting account management so they fully understand the creative work to better sell it to client and follow through in producing it. Also, availing yourself to see clients to help sell the work and understand its value, whenever necessary.

  • At least 5 years of creative team management experience.
  • 10+ years of producing advertising, digital, social, content experience, and working closely with clients to achieve their marketing goals, able to articulate strategy and agency ideas.
  • Experience in creating integrated work across all channels with expertise in digital, but including video, activation and promotional campaigns.
  • Able to manage a team of creatives, judge their work impartially, and be able to find the best ideas and develop them with the team.
  • Native Japanese, Conversational English or above is a plus


  • 少なくとも5年以上のクリエイティブチーム管理の経験。
  • 10年以上の広告、デジタル、ソーシャル、コンテンツの経験をお持ちの方
  • デジタルの知識を持ち、ビデオ、アクティベーション、プロモーション・キャンペーン等、幅広い総合的な経験をお持ちの方
  • チームを管理し、メンバーの仕事を公平に判断し、最高のアイデアを見つけてチームと一緒に開発することができる方。
