  • Overview

    The Accountant is primarily responsible for financial reporting, SOX compliance and taxation function.


    Reporting Relationship: 

    The Accountant reports directly to the Comptroller, in his/her absence, the Finance Director.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. General Accounting
    • Ensures timely monthly and annual closing;
    • Prepares of monthly financial reports;
    • Reviews the completeness and accuracy of FS Schedules prepared by the Jr. Accountant;
    • Reviews the accuracy of accounting entries
    • Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.


    1. Tax Reporting
    • Prepares and submits tax returns and schedules for approval;
    • Ensures timely remittance of all tax payable;
    • Works with Auditors in the preparation of Annual Corporate Income Tax Returns; and
    • Prepares reconciliation necessary in resolving tax issues and cases.


    1. Statutory and Management Reporting
    • Assist the Comptroller in Financial accounting, business analysis, business reporting and revenue tracking;
    • Provide cashflow, AR and business information to Corporate, Regional offices, and Management;
    • Assist in the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly management reports.
    • Ensures timely submission of government requirements


    1. SOX Compliance
    • Preparation of SOX reports
    • Maintain and update SOX documentation within area of responsibilities;
    • Ensure effective internal control within area of responsibilities.


    1. Other duties
    • Answers queries on general accounting matters;
    • Ensure completeness of documentary requirements of Supplier and Client accreditation process;
    • Recommends to Finance Manager process improvement and updates on policies within area of responsibilities;
    • Orient new Finance staff in terms of current general accounting process of the department.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with management, employees and external contacts.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills; be service-oriented, self-motivated and a team player;


    Desired Skills & Qualifications:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 4 years of relevant work experience
    • Pro-active, driven and can work with minimal supervision

    • Good time-management skills
