  • Overview

    Reporting into the Group Finance Director, you will be an integral part of [Market] Finance with key responsibilities for the integrity of and reporting of financial data pertaining to the [Market] Group.  The role covers all reporting aspects of actuals, budgeting and forecasting and lead the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department, ensuring all financial reporting deliverables are met on an accurate and timely basis. In particular the role will focus on assessing the financial health of the organisation by monitoring performance against budgets, forecasts, and previous years and against other similar businesses, also proactively seeking to improve the performance of the business. You will also be responsible for the accounting systems and processes within the Group, including any development initiatives.  As a proactive leader of the Finance Department, you are supportive to ensure corporate policies and procedures are effectively rolled out and executed.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the reporting process (monthly, quarterly, annually) including the provision of timely & accurate reporting for the Group and narrative analyses
    • Manage corporate banking relationships and treasury matters. Responsible for cashflow forecast and I/C group interest
    • Manage overall [Market] Group centralized costs allocation in forecast, budget and actual
    • Lead the IT department and review IT initiatives and CAPEX
    • Lead the production of annual statutory audit, SOX audit and consolidated financial statements
    • Further develop the financial controls and operating procedures to ensure full compliance of statutory requirements, accounting standards, SOX and group policies
    • Involvement and occasional leadership of ad-hoc projects as required

    • Management responsibilities

    • Ensure sound judgment with solid grounds when estimating month end accruals/prepayments and provisions.
    • Analyze month end results, including drafting reports for senior management as requested. Where appropriate       to give results some context, source external data for comparisons.
    • Ensure reports are distributed to, and performance is discussed with, the appropriate managers in the business.
    • Make managers aware of the financial implications of their decisions, and pro-actively support the achievement of their commercial objectives.
    • Communicate with corresponding leads of any area for concern. Act as an advance warning where trends can be identified.
    • Ensure resources are directed towards areas with the greatest potential benefit to the business.
    • Develop systems to automate and improve processes where possible.
    • Ad hoc projects and investigations as requested.

     

    Qualifications

    • Degree holder or equivalent, with major in accountancy, and with a recognized professional accounting qualification
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with hands-on experience in handling daily operations of accounting matters, experience gained from sizeable MNCs is preferable
    • Experience within a professional firm and good knowledge on internal control is required, in–depth SOX knowledge is definitely an advantage
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and deliver significant improvements or projects successfully
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and planning skills
    • Demonstrated strong financial and system skills (including transactional systems and consolidation systems)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, good team player capable to interact with all levels
    • Independent, mature and capable to lead a team in handling a full set of books
    • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and time management skills
    • Organized, able to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
    • Proactive and energetic in looking for improvements to meet business needs
    • Fluency in English
